【摘要】:ThisBritishStandardgivesrecommendationsforthedesign,manufacture,installationandmaintenanceofslopingandverticalpatentglazingsystemsattachedtoandsupportedbystructuralmembersofadequatestrength,stiffnessandstability.Allrecommendationsapplytoflat,includingfaceted,patentglazingandinfilling.Theymayalsoapplytocurvedpatentglazingandinfillingexceptforthestructuraldesignwherespecialistadviceisneeded.Thepatentglazingsystemsincludedinthisstandardcompriseglazingbarsofaluminiumorsteel,whichcanbecladtotallyorpartiallycladwithleadorPVC-U.fortwo-edgesupportandfour-edgesupportsystemsforsingleanddoubleglazingorotherinfill.Arangeoftransparentandopaqueinfillingsofglass,plasticsglazingsheetmaterialsandotherinfillmaterialsareincluded:specificinformationonplasticsglazingsheetmaterialsisgiveninBS5516-2:2004,AnnexA.Thisstandardcoverstheuseofpatentglazinginpermanentbuildingsandstructures,includingconservatoriesbutexcludesgreenhouses.Clausesthatarerelevantalsoapplytotheuseofpatentglazinginsidebuildings.Thisstandarddoesnotincluderecommendationsforthedesignofthesupportingstructuretowhichthepatentglazingisattached.RequirementsforstandardsofworkmanshipforglazinghavebeenpublishedseparatelyasBS8000-7and,therefore,thissubjectisnotwithinthescopeofthisstandard.Sincethecorrectselectionofmaterialstobeusedinglazingforbuildingsdependsonmanyfactors,attentionisdrawntotherecommendationsintheotherpartsofthisstandard.
