【摘要】:Mostanalyticalmethodsusedinairpollutantmeasurementsarecomparativeinnatureandrequirecalibrationorstandardization,orboth,oftenwithknownblendsofthegasofinterest.Sincemanyoftheimportantairpollutantsarereactiveandunstable,itisdifficulttostorethemasstandardmixturesofknownconcentrationforextendedcalibrationpurposes.Analternativeistopreparedynamicallystandardblendsasrequired.Thisprocedureissimplifiedifaconstantsourceofthegasofinterestcanbeprovided.Permeationtubesprovidethisconstantsource,ifproperlycalibratedandifmaintainedatconstanttemperature.Permeationtubeshavebeenspecifiedasreferencecalibrationsources,forcertainanalyticalprocedures,bytheEnvironmentalProtectionAgency(3).1.1Thispracticedescribesameansforusingpermeationtubesfordynamicallycalibratinginstruments,analyzers,andanalyticalproceduresusedinmeasuringconcentrationsofgasesorvaporsinatmospheres(1,2).1.2Typicalmaterialsthatmaybesealedinpermeationtubesinclude:sulfurdioxide,nitrogendioxide,hydrogensulfide,chlorine,ammonia,propane,andbutane(1).1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
