【摘要】:Thistestmethodisintendedforthedeterminationoftheradiantheatperformancevalueofamaterial,acombinationofmaterials,oracomparisonofdifferentmaterialsusedinflameresistantclothingforworkersexposedtoradiantthermalhazards.Thistestmethodevaluatesamaterialx2019;sheattransferpropertieswhenexposedtoaheatexposureataconstantvalueandsystematicallyvarieddurations.Airmovementatthefaceofthespecimenandaroundthecalorimetercanaffectthemeasuredheattransferredduetoforcedconvectiveheatlosses.Minimizingairmovementaroundthespecimenandtestapparatuswillaidintherepeatabilityoftheresults.Thistestmethodaccountsforthethermalenergycontainedintheexposedtestspecimenaftertheradiantheatexposurehasceased.HighervaluesofRadiantHeatPerformanceratingdeterminedinthistestassociatetohighervaluesofradiantenergyprotectionagainstapredictedskinburninjury.Thistestmethodmaintainsthespecimeninastatic,verticalpositionanddoesnotinvolvemovementexceptthatresultingfromtheexposureprocedure.Thistestmethodspecifiestwostandardsetsofexposureconditions,21kW/m2(0.5cal/cm2s)and84kW/m2(2.0cal/cm2s).Eithercanbeused.5.5.1Ifadifferentsetofexposureconditionsisused,itislikelythatdifferentresultswillbeobtained.5.5.2Theoptionaluseofotherconditionsrepresentativeoftheexpectedhazard,inadditiontothestandardsetofexposureconditions,ispermitted.However,theexposureconditionsusedmustbereportedwiththeresultsalongwithadeterminationoftheexposureenergylevelstability.1.1Thistestmethodmeasuresthermalprotectivecharacteristicsofflameresistanttextilematerialssubjectedtoastandardizedradiantheatexposurerelativetoapredictedsecond-degreeskinburninjury.1.1.1Thistestmethodisnotapplicabletotextilematerialsthatarenotflameresistant.Note18212;Thedeterminationofatextilematerialx2019;sflameresistanceshallbemadepriortotestinganddoneaccordingtotheapplicableperformanceand/orspecificationstandardforthetextilematerialx2019;send-use.1.1.2Thistestmethodaccountsforthethermalenergycontainedinanexposedtestspecimenafterthestandardizedradiantheatexposurehasceased.1.2Thistestmethodisusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliestoheatundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardorfireriskassessmentofthematerials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoinch-poundorotherunitsthatarecommonlyusedforthermaltesting.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

【摘要】:Absoluteprobecoilmethods,whenusedinconjunctionwithreferencestandardsofknownvalue,provideameansfordeterminingtheelectricalconductivityofnonmagneticmaterials.Electricalconductivityofasamplecanbeusedasameansofdetermining:(1)typeofmetaloralloy,(2)typeofheattreatment(foraluminumthisevaluationshouldbeusedinconjunctionwithahardnessexamination),(3)agingofthealloy,(4)effectsofcorrosion,and(5)heatdamage.1.1Thispracticecoversaprocedurefordeterminingtheelectricalconductivityofnonmagneticmetalsusingtheelectromagnetic(eddy-current)method.Theprocedurehasbeenwrittenprimarilyforusewithcommerciallyavailabledirectreadingelectricalconductivityinstruments.Generalpurposeeddy-currentinstrumentsmayalsobeusedforelectricalconductivitymeasurementsbutwillnotbeaddressedinthispractice.1.2Thispracticeisapplicabletometalsthathaveeitheraflatorslightlycurvedsurfaceandincludesmetalswithorwithoutathinnonconductivecoating.1.3Eddy-currentdeterminationsofelectricalconductivitymaybeusedinthesortingofmetalswithrespecttovariablessuchastypeofalloy,aging,colddeformation,heattreatment,effectsassociatedwithnon-uniformheatingoroverheating,andeffectsofcorrosion.Theusefulnessoftheexaminationsofthesepropertiesisdependentontheamountofelectricalconductivitychangecausedbyachangeinthespecificvariable.1.4Electricalconductivity,whenevaluatedwitheddy-currentinstruments,isusuallyexpressedasapercentageoftheconductivityoftheInternationalAnnealedCopperStandard(IACS).TheconductivityoftheAnnealedCopperStandardisdefinedtobe0.58108S/m(100%IACS)at20176;C.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsareregardedasstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
