【摘要】:Thispracticeisintendedforthecollectionofsettleddustsamplesforthesubsequentmeasurementofberylliumandcompounds.Thepracticeismeantforuseinthecollectionofsettleddustsamplesthatareofinterestinclearance,hazardevaluation,riskassessment,andotherpurposes.Thispracticeisintendedsolelyforthecollectionofsettleddustsamplesfromhard,relativelysmoothnonporoussurfacesthatmaybecompromisedbywaterorotherwettingagentsandthatarethereforenotsuitableforwetwipesamplingusingPracticeD6966ormicro-vacuumsamplingusingPracticeD7144.Useofthispracticeforanypurposeotherthantheintendedpurposeisdiscouragedduetothelimitedcollectionefficiencyandhighvariabilityofdrywipesamplingascomparedtowettedwipeormicro-vacuumsampling3.Thispracticeislesseffectiveforcollectingsettleddustsamplesfromsurfaceswithsubstantialtexturesuchasroughconcrete,brickwork,texturedceilings,andsoftfibroussurfacessuchasupholsteryandcarpeting.Micro-vacuumsamplingusingPracticeD7144maybemoresuitableforthesesurfaces.1.1Thispracticecoversthecollectionofsettleddustcontainingberylliumand/orberylliumcompoundsonsurfacesusingthedrywipesamplingmethod.Thesesamplesarecollectedinamannerthatwillpermitsubsequentextractionanddeterminationofberylliumandcompoundsinthewipesusinglaboratoryanalysistechniquessuchasatomicspectrometryorfluorescencedetection.1.2Thispracticeislimitedinitsscopetoapplicationswherewettedwipesampling(usingPracticeD6966)orvacuumsampling(usingPracticeD7144)isnotphysicallyfeasible(forexample,ifthesurfacetobewipedwouldbecompromisedbyuseofwettedwipes).1.3Thispracticedoesnotaddressthesamplingdesigncriteria(thatis,samplingplanwhichincludesthenumberandlocationofsamples)thatareusedforclearance,hazardevaluation,riskassessment,andotherpurposes.Toprovideforvalidconclusions,sufficientnumbersofsamplesshouldbeobtainedasdirectedbyasamplingplan.1.4Thispracticecontainsnotesthatareexplanatoryandarenotpartofthemandatoryrequirementsofthispractice.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
